Web Store Pricing

Canadian Dollars

Alectro Systems is a Canadian Company, the default web store prices are in Canadian Dollars. When you purchase from any other country such as the United States of America, UK or Australia using credit card, your payment is automatically converted from your local currency into Canadian Dollars by PayPal.


Because many of our sales are made to the United States, we have added the US Dollar option to make it easier for our American friends. If you are in the United States, please feel free to select US Dollars. If you are in Canada or anywhere else in the world, please select the Canadian Dollar option. This will prove to be more cost effective.

Payment and Billing

Tax and Duty

Taxes are charged on purchases made online and vary depending on your location and what the products are being used for. Our business is located in the province of Ontario and we are obligated to charge both PST (Provincial Sales Tax) and GST (Goods and Services Tax) to Ontario residents.


PST Exemption

If you are a business or a Church who is using our products as part of your worship service you are exempt from paying PST. There are two ways that this can be handled. The first way is to simply make your purchases online and submit your receipts to Revenue Canada at the end of the year for an input tax credit. The second option is to call us or email us and we can set up your account so that you do not pay PST on any purchases made through our online system. International Orders Taxes and Duties

Alectro Systems does not charge tax on international orders. However many countries apply their own taxes and duties on purchases made from foreign destinations. It is the responsibility of the person making the purchase to pay any taxes and duties that your country's customs may charge.


If taxes do apply, they are charged by the courier and may be due upon receipt of the parcel, or may be billed afterward.


Typically, UPS shipments to the United States valued under $200 are not charged taxes.

Payment Options

Making Payments By Visa, Mastercard or Debit

Payments can be made using your Visa, Mastercard or Debit card through Paypal's online secure checkout system. You do not need to create a Paypal account to use this method of checkout. If you do not wish to establish an account with Paypal then simply select the "If you do not currently have a Paypal account Click Here" option.

Making Payments on Account

For church and business clients wishing to purchase online we can establish a credit account to allow you to place orders online and pay by cheque. To setup a credit account please follow these instructions.

  1. Setup a user account online by visiting ../alectro/catalog/create_account.php
  2. Contact us either by email or phone requesting a credit account. Please provide us with your name, church or business name, and desired credit limit.
  3. We will notify you by email that your account has been established and is ready to begin using for online purchases.
  4. When making a purchase use the "Purchase Order Account" option and provide a Purchase Order Number. You can enter anything for the P.O. Number.

In order to purchase from our online store each customer must setup an account. Your account contains a complete history of all your purchases. If you have lost an invoice simply login to your account and locate and print the invoice.



Shipping and Delivery

Shipping Rates and Methods

The shipping method will be displayed on the Delivery Information screen during your checkout process. The CPE shipping method is via DHL Express. If there is no entry in our system for your zone, this will be indicated on the Delivery Information screen. In this case you will need to contact us for shipping information and order processing.



The shipping rates on our web store are calculated for each order based on carrier, weight and zone. We do our best to keep the cost low while providing reliable and quick delivery.

Shipping Within Canada

Canada Post Expedited

All our shipments within Canada are shipped via Canada Post Expedited.


International Shipping

DHL Express

All our standard international shipments are handled by DHL. The "CPE" shipping method you see upon checkout is DHL Express. They provide us with the best pricing for a high standard of service. DHL ships just about anywhere, except to Post Office Boxes. If you need your item delivered to a Post Office Box, you will need to select the Canada Post Expedited option.


Canada Post XPRESS Post/Expedited

Canada Post XPRESS Post and Expedited are shipping options to the United States, while only XPRESS Post is offered everywhere else internationally. It is the only option if you need delivery to a Post Office Box, otherwise select DHL. DHL is usually less expensive, and has better delivery and tracking.


Canada Post Small Packet Air

We can ship some small parcels (such as one or two DA10 door alarms, or a few MLRFIF filter cables) to international destinations using Canada Post Small Packet Air service. Although it is relatively inexpensive, it can only be used for parcels under 2 kg, there is no tracking and no insurance.

Additional Charges

Please note that if your order is valued at $200 or more, your package will likely be subject to duty, brokerage, and tax charges. DHLs standard Brokerage fee is $6.50 plus your local taxes. This will be charged by DHL at the time of delivery. If your order is for products we make, you will not be subject to any duty charges.


When Will My Order Arrive?

Stock items will generally ship same day if the order is received before 1 pm Eastern Standard Time. You will be notified if items are not in stock.


DHL Express shipments generally arrive between 1-2 business days within North America. And 2-5 business days worldwide.


Tracking A Shipment

Once your order has been shipped, the status will be updated on your invoice and the tracking number will be added. You will also receive an email with this information. You can go into your account at any time to check your order status and get the tracking number.

User Account Information

Do I Need To Create An Account To Make A Purchase?

In order to make purchases using our online shopping system you will need to establish a user account. The user account allows you to store your shipping and billing information, keep track off past purchases and manage downloads. If you are making multiple purchases your credit card information is not stored within our database since all credit card transactions are processed through Paypal.

Retrieving A Lost Password

In the event that you have lost the password to your online user account please visit ../alectro/catalog/password_forgotten.php. In the form field provided please enter the email address that you established the account with and click continue. A email will be sent to the email address that is registered to the account providing you with instructions to reset your password.


What Is The Difference Between A Credit Account And A User Account?

A user account is the account that you setup in order to make purchases through our online store. This simply helps to store certain information that will make your online shopping experience a little more efficient. Anyone can create a user account.


A credit account has to be requested by a church or company that already has an existing user account. The credit account will allow a church or company to pay by cheque or money order using our existing terms. (Net 15)


What Is "My Address Book"?

My Address Book is a tool that allows you to store multiple addresses so that you can select between addresses during the checkout procedure. You can store a maximum of 5 address book entries. This will allow you to set your billing address to one location and your shipping address to another.

Placing An Order

Placing an order is very simple. Search our site by either browsing through the categories or using the search link at the top of each page. Once you have found the items that you are looking for click the "Add To Cart" button. This will store items in your shopping cart. The shopping cart can be viewed at any time by clicking on the "Cart Contents" link in the top right menu.


When you have added all of the items that you wish to purchase to your shopping cart and you are ready to checkout, select the Checkout button located in the bottom right corner of the screen. You will see any shipping options that are available along with pricing to ship to your location.


Select the appropriate shipping option if options are available then click on the Continue button.


Next select the method of payment, and if you want , you can also change the address that the invoice will be sent to by clicking on the Change address button. You also need to choose whether or not you would like to include shipping insurance. Please also include any comments that you feel are necessary in the comments box. Then click Continue.


The final screen you see before your order is placed is a confirmation of your order. Here you can see the total including taxes, shipping and shipping insurance. You can also change the shipping or billing address by clicking on the edit link next to the address listed.


Once you have verified that your order is correct, click Confirm Order to finish the transaction. If paying with Paypal you will be taken to Paypal's secure checkout.


If you have purchased materials for download, a link will appear on the final payment success screen.

How To Cancel Or Change An Order

Orders may be cancelled or changed, however some conditions apply. Some items that we have in our store cannot be returned once purchased. We can cancel orders on these items if you contact us before our order is placed with our suppliers. In short if you have to make a cancellation or change, please let us know as soon as possible. Once the item has been shipped it is too late to change or cancel the order.

Returning An Order

Return Policy

- Before returning any item, you must first contact us. Please see "Returning an Order" below.

- Downloaded Programs and CDs cannot be returned, and money cannot be refunded for these items.

- Any defective items can be returned for repair or exchange within 30 days of purchase.

- In general, most purchases cannot be returned unless they are defective.

- Some problem solving electronics manufactured by Alectro Systems, such as RFI Filters and Audio Ground Decouplers can be returned within 30 days of purchase for a refund or credit, less shipping, if they do not solve your problem.

- Items which we will accept must be returned within 30 days, and only after contacting us.

- Refunds and credit will be based on the purchase price of the items only. You are responsible for all shipping costs.

How to Return or Exchange an Item.

If you wish to return an item, you must contact us within 15 days of receipt of the order. Once we determine if the item is returnable, we will provide you with instructions.
