This kit includes the hand held 16 channel remote control and transmitter which simply plugs any AC electrical wall outlet. It controls XPD3-IW remote control dimmers and XPS3-IW remote control switches throughout the building. Because it operates on Radio Frequency instead of Infra Red, it does not require "line of sight" to the transmitter unit. You might require an XPCP coupler or XPCR coupler / repeater depending on the wiring and size of your building.
