This is an example of a Basic 8 Channel Portable Church Sound System which might be used primarily for speech as well as some live music. The total cost for this system example is approximately $ 3,800. Click on the links for individual data sheets and prices.

The Electro-Voice SX100 is a high quality professional sound reinforcement speaker system. It will give quite accurate reproduction of speech and recorded music as well as live vocal and instruments. It has been designed to give even frequency response and sound distribution throughout its 65 degree dispersion angles (both horizontal and vertical).The frequency response of 85 Hz to 25 KHz can be extended lower to 55 Hz using an XP200 processor. The SX100 is a 200 watt (continuous) portable unit which can be mounted on a stand or permanently on a wall if desired.
The K&M 214/6 is a light weight, high quality black tripod speaker stand. This is a very reliable German made unit which extends from 4 feet to 7½ feet.
A
GigRac
600, 8 channel mono powered mixer.
The Soundcraft Gigrac is a compact 8 channel powered mixer with built in power amplifier(s). The Gigrac 600 has a built in 600 watt stereo amplifier. All 8 channels have XLR type microphone inputs, four with phantom power. Four of the channels also have line inputs for instruments, CD player etc. Each channel has Treble, Bass, Effects, Monitor and Main controls. A built in effects processor provides several echo, reverberation and chorus effects. Outputs include 1/4 inch Phone as well as Speakon powered outputs for speakers. There are also line level outputs for recording, etc.
The Gigrac is a low cost, compact unit which is ideal for portable sound system used in simple applications.

foot broadcast quality cables and high quality telescopic
boom stands.
The AKG C5 is an excellent vocal and instrument condenser microphone.
It has a very smooth response with a slight rise in the 7-12KHz
range to give it some presence. This microphone has a low proximity
effect producing a natural sound up close or at any distance. It
is therefore an excellent choice for multi-purpose applications
where it might be used at various distances. The C5 is a great
sounding microphone which is very versatile and forgiving.
The Digiflex C50XXC4 is a broadcast quality, highly flexible, 50 foot microphone cable. It is double balanced to provide the highest possible electrical noise reduction.
The K&M 210/9 is a high quality, telescopic folding floor microphone
stand with a telescopic boom arm. It is finished in chrome and folds
to a very compact size for storage. The stand in made in Germany
and is very stable and reliable.
